The votes are in! I know some of you voted all the way through but that isn't how this is going down. We are going to go round by round until a true winner is declared. I took note of every one's first round votes as well as a few votes that were made outside of posting on the blog(honestly? how hard is it to post a message?)
Corsage Bracket
-Lionel Ritchie's Hello(1 seed) takes out Eric Clapton and Wonderful Tonight(4 seed). It was a surprisingly close battle. Personally I think Hello crushes Wonderful tonight when it comes to pure prom songs. So I am happy to see this move on
-In our first upset of the bracket Richard Marx and Right Here Waiting takes down Wham and Careless Whisper. I thought the John Candy video playing tot he song would lock it up for Wham. I was wrong.
Did you get in her pants Bracket
-Complete and utter blowout. Peter Gabrielle and your eyes crushes Always and Forever. Heat Wave apparently doesn't get the heat going with the ladies at prom. Hey yooooo!
-This is one that will be debated for centuries. Both wonderful songs filled with yearning and love and feelings. Seems the men all wanted Heaven to advance while the ladies went nuts over Vanessa Williams in the fake snow in Save the best for last. We had an utter deadlock with this match. With that said Heaven moves on. Bryan Adams is Canadian. Canadians brought hockey into my life. The title of his song is Heaven. I want to go there someday. So Bryan Adams wins in my book.
We all got a lime Bracket
- Even with my large hope of Sinead to move on, More than Words was just too overpowering in the voting. Extreme takes this one in a very close battle.
-This was probably my worst placement of the rankings in this bracket. How the hell anyone could even think Luther holds a candle to Cetera and Glory of love is beyond me. With that said we had a tie here. Poor poor taste not withstanding. Glory of Love crushes Here and Now. It shouldn't have even been this close. Shame on you Here and Now voters. Shame on you.
Photo line Conversation Bracket
-I'm all out of love didn't really stand a chance against I'll Make love to you. Other than In your Eyes, it was the most lopsided battle of the initial round.
-You Can't fight this feeling anymore. Just once and for all proves that roses are overrated. Well at least roses with thorns.....

I agree with the point made previously that any other Brian Adams song would have gone further in this bracket.
Should be the Final Four, these songs are where the real action was...a lot of women got molested during these songs:
Notorious BIG...He's dead now he can have 3 songs - Juicy; Mo Money Mo Problems; Hypnotize
Mase - Feel So Good
Puff Daddy - Can't Nobody Hold Me Down (also...I'll Be Missing You..but that one didn't get you as much action)
2Pac - California Love
Otherwise:
Ritchie
Gabriel
Extreme
Boyz II Men (It's with a Z Taylor)
ritchie, gabriel, extreme, boys2men.
i'm pretty certain that this is the way it's going to go down.
i still can't get over sinead going down. that song is magic. MAGIC i tell you! i defy you to listen to that song and not at least come close to shedding a tear.
and taylor, that was my point about bryan adams, and you are correct, i was right (no surprise there)
Is this some cheap trick to get more comments?
Fine. I'll play your game Kazarian. But I don't have to like it.
CORSAGE:
Marx 'Right Here Waiting for You'
PANTS/DRESS:
Gabriel 'In Your Eyes'
LIMO:
Cetera 'Glory of Love' for no other reason than a verse like this:
"Just like a knight in shining armor
From a long time ago
Just in time I will save the day
Take you to my castle far away"
PHOTO:
REO Speedwagon
once again, based on lyrical content
Also, I vote that votes must be cast via written comment on this blog. Any other form of voting shouldn't even be considered. Its simply an integrity issue.
That's all.
